Use of time assessment
How often would you use it?
The school counseling department will log their hours daily, either as they go or at the end of the day.
Why would you use it?It will be used as a way to show administration what school counselors do on a daily basis, showing the need for preventative services. It will also be a good way to show administration the importance of school counselors and their work.
What distribution of time/duties would be ideal?
Ideally school counselors will spend 80% of their time in the direct services (school counseling core curriculum, individual student planning and responsive services) and 20% in the indirect services (referrals, consultation, collaboration, program management).
Professional School Counselors have standards to meet in regards to mindsets and behaviors. They are attached below.
